Labels with a Purpose

Color and imagery (pictures) create a meaningful symbolic language. We use this symbolic language to enhance our written language or and it is meaningful alone and separate from the written word. Adding imagery and graphic design to written language make the words more powerful.

How is the purpose of a label and hence the design (design serves purpose) described by color and imagery used when making these simple labels.

Labels
1- Hot (example)


2- Poison
  • Size 3x4
  • Colors ???
  • Imagery ???

3- Not safe for children
  • Size  2x5
  • Colors ???
  • Imagery ???

Instructions:
Copy label 1,  follow the size constraints for label 2 and 3. You are the designer.  You decide what colors and what imagery enhance the message.

Save your work  as lastname-firstname-label-1, 2, 3.  Place these labels on your desktop in a folder called enhanced-message-labels
